Green it up with sustainable living!

Food Sustainability Solutions:

The demands we place on our environment, and what we give back to our environment, are the keys to the long term solution to these problems.

Some organizations have tried to address world hunger by raising funds to send food to those who need it. That is an admiral goal. But it has many problems, including how much money is actually used to buy food, and how much of that food actually makes it past "black marketeers" and crooks of various kinds. We need to address the big picture in order to create a lasting, sustainable solution.

The real answer is for everyone, "third world", "old world" alike, to adopt holistic, sustainable approaches to living, food production and energy production/use. This doesn't mean we need to sacrifice the comforts we've grown accustomed to in modern life. It may take minor adjustments our lifestyles, but if it's done right, we can live virtually the same, while being helping others achieve a more comfortable lifestyle also.

For overall sustainability, alternative  sustainable housing, house or office construction that is beyond energy efficient, like straw bale, ferrocement, earth-sheltered, domes, etc., visit Suspro.org. They are a "real" non profit group of volunteers, who are really doing it.
